Vogue Talks: Fashion’s Circularity in the PH

Circulo founder Carlo Chen-Delantar and Anna Lagon of Bayo Clothing discussed Circular Fashion in the Philippines at a VogueTalks event last 18th of October 2023 at Vogue Philippines’ Head Office.

They discussed securing a sustainable future for the Philippines, by aiming to revive the local textile industry and pioneer trendsetting fabrics.

A Major Player: The Philippines boasts a $1 billion annual export in clothing, fabrics, and footwear. Despite a slight decline since the 1990s, the industry still employs over 657,000 workers, with plans introduced in 2020 to boost global competitiveness.

Untapped Textile Potential: In 2022, the Philippines witnessed a rise in textile manufacturing's gross value added (approximately 44.6 billion PHP). However, import reliance for garment production is a challenge we aim to overcome.

Crafting a Sustainable Future: To secure a brighter future for the Philippines:
1️⃣ Revive our local textile industry
2️⃣ Capitalize on our expertise to pioneer trendsetting fabrics

The mission? Showcase our unique fabrics globally and redefine fashion together. Let's weave Filipino innovation into the world!
